Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Computer Support Technician to join our team. As a Computer Support Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing common computer systems, providing technical support to end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on NextComputing custom systems and other peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates.
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or remote team viewer sessions.
- Diagnose network issues, including connectivity problems, and coordinate with network administrators for resolution.
- Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Document all support activities, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions, in the ticketing system.
- Assist with the setup and deployment of new computer systems and peripherals.
- Maintain an inventory of RMA equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other RMA, Engineering and Production team members to address complex technical issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a computer support or IT technician role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and Server operating systems.
- Familiar with Linux.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and basic understanding of network protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.

SolidWorks Mechanical Designer Position
Position Overview:
Next Computing, a leader in easily customized, high-performance, low volume, mobile, rack mount and small footprint computing solutions for extreme applications, is looking for a mid-level Mechanical CAD Designer to work and grow with our small but dynamic Engineering Staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create parts and assemblies using the latest version of SolidWorks CAD. Experience with SolidWorks sheet metal design and basic plastic part design requirements.
- Work under engineering supervision and direction to maintain legacy products and help bring new products from concept to production.
- Work from simple ideas and basic sketches, to complex files and instructions within industry electronics packaging standards (FCC, CUL, TUV, ATX, EMI, EIA, etc). Knowledge of PCIe standards a plus.
- Generate detail drawings per internal standards (based on ASME Y14.5).
- Quickly model basic concepts to prove viability and possible customer options and produce eDrawings and files (STEP, PDF, JPG, DXF, etc.) for review.
- Multi-task efficiently between several projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Note issues, provide support, and respond to feedback/comments to make sure project, department, and company objectives are met.
Qualifications:
- AS degree in engineering or equivalent experience in computer related product design.
- 2-5+ year’s experience using SolidWorks CAD to create engineering and fabrication files and drawings, including CAD file management, revision changes, specifications, part numbers and BOM creation.
- Knowledge of design specifications and manufacturing processes including DFA/DFM, sheet metal, pcb mechanical outlines, machining operations, and mechanical hardware.
- Ability to conduct basic tolerance studies.
- Have basic understanding of finishing processes including plating and painting, as well as shipping packaging.
- Expected to be proficient with the use of basic hand tools, and willingness and ability to make quick part changes including some small hand made parts or modifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
